Home Extensions FAQs in Brighton East

What work can you help with during extensions?

Athans Building Services can assist with interior tasks during a home extension, such as fitting internal doors and trim, installing plasterboard, patching and painting walls, and completing flooring. Carpentry help may include skirting boards, shelving and cabinetry, along with minor repairs to adjoining areas. The work depends on the project design and agreed scope.

Can an existing room be prepared for connection?

Preparing an existing room to connect with an extension can involve several interior tasks, depending on the design. Athans Building Services can discuss suitable finishing work, including plasterboard, patching and painting. Structural changes or other work requiring a licensed trade must be handled by appropriately qualified professionals.

What interior finishes can be completed after extension work?

Once extension construction is ready for interior finishing, Athans Building Services can help with painting, flooring, doors, trim and other agreed details. The scope will depend on the layout and project requirements. Careful attention to finishes helps the new space feel considered alongside the existing home.

Can windows and doors be included in plans?

Windows and doors may be part of an extension project, depending on its design and the approvals required. Athans Building Services can discuss installation as part of the agreed scope. The plans should confirm the openings, products and any approval requirements before this work goes ahead.

Do structural trades need separate licensed professionals?

Yes. Structural, electrical and plumbing work must be completed by appropriately licensed trades. Athans Building Services can assist with suitable interior finishing and minor carpentry tasks, but those regulated parts of an extension need the right licensed professionals. The project scope should make clear which work requires their involvement.

How does extension work suit homes in Brighton East?

Every Brighton East home has its own layout and project needs, so extension work is planned around the space being added or adapted. Athans Building Services can discuss interior finishing tasks such as plasterboard, painting, flooring and trim, with the agreed work shaped by the design and required approvals.
