Home Extensions FAQs in Cheltenham

What interior work can you complete during extensions?

For home extensions in Cheltenham, Athans Building Services can help prepare adjoining spaces and complete interior finishing once the extension is ready. This may include fitting internal doors and trim, patching and painting walls, and attending to minor repairs in nearby areas. The work depends on the project design and what’s needed at your home.

Can you prepare existing rooms for new extensions?

Yes, Athans Building Services can assist with preparing an existing room to connect with an extension. The work may involve removing or adjusting finishes and making adjoining areas ready for the next stage. The exact preparation depends on the design, and any structural changes must be carried out by appropriately licensed trades.

Do you install plasterboard and finish extension walls?

Athans Building Services can install plasterboard and help finish walls as part of an extension project in Cheltenham. This can include patching and painting to create a tidy result that suits the adjoining rooms. The scope is confirmed for each job, and any electrical work must be completed by an appropriately licensed electrician.

What trades handle structural electrical and plumbing work?

Structural, electrical and plumbing work must be completed by appropriately licensed trades, not treated as handyman tasks. Athans Building Services can discuss the interior finishing work involved in your extension and clarify where licensed trades are required. This helps keep the project scope clear for homeowners in Cheltenham and nearby suburbs.

Can you fit doors windows and interior trim?

Athans Building Services can assist with fitting internal doors and trim, and window or door installation may also form part of an extension project. This depends on the design and required approvals. We’ll clarify what’s included for your Cheltenham home, while any structural work is left to appropriately licensed trades.

How do flooring and carpentry fit into extensions?

Flooring and smaller carpentry tasks can help bring an extension’s interior together. Athans Building Services may assist with flooring, skirting boards, shelving or cabinetry, depending on the job. For homes in Cheltenham and nearby suburbs, the scope is discussed before work begins so the finishing tasks suit the project.
